Annie is a Graduate Arnhold Environmental Fellow at emLab, researching Marine Protected Areas and climate resiliency. As a recent graduate from the Bren School (Master of Environmental Science and Management Class of ’22), Annie specialized in Coastal Marine Resource Management and Corporate Environmental Management with a focus on Eco-Entrepreneurship and Strategic Communications. She is particularly interested in engaging communities to adopt innovative solutions to protect coastal resources and harness the power of the tourism industry for investment in marine conservation and the blue economy. Annie began her career as an environmental consultant working on natural resource management and environmental compliance projects in Hawaiʻi. She is also an international hiking and cycling guide, designing and leading trips across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. Through her professional experience and volunteer work, Annie has been involved in various marine conservation, watershed management, and sustainable tourism development projects. As an ocean enthusiast, in her free time, you can find her surfing, swimming, diving, sailing, outrigger canoe paddling, and exploring the places she is working to protect.
