Mina is one of emLab’s Science Communication Fellows who helps design promotional materials and implement the communications plan. Mina works to make emLab’s research more accessible to a variety of audiences on social media, the website, and through the monthly newsletter. Previously, Mina interned as a Youth Initiative Coordinator with the non-profit Gravity Water, leading high school students in planning and managing community outreach campaigns in order to raise money to build clean water systems abroad. She has also worked as a Marketing Intern for a local architectural reuse facility based in Goleta called Demo2Design. Entering her fourth year at UCSB in fall 2022, Mina is interested in further exploring the overlap of her majors in Environmental Studies and Global Studies, including topics like the global water crisis, climate change, and food systems. Outside of school and work, Mina enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, reading, crafting, listening to new music, and trying vegan food spots.
