Minwoo Hyun

Bio

Minwoo is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics. At emLab, he collaborates with Kyle Meng on research exploring the energy intensity of international trade using bilateral trade data. His work focuses on the economic challenges of the energy transition, including labor reallocation for fossil fuel workers and the fiscal impacts on coal-dependent local governments. In Summer 2023, he served as a Doctoral Economics Intern at the Environmental Defense Fund. Minwoo holds a Master of Science in Green Business and Policy from KAIST and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Yonsei University, South Korea. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and running along the beach.
